South Cliff Links

Graham Simmons, lithographic poster, 1921 · lithographic poster

What it is

Graham Simmons’ 1921 poster for the South Cliff links, the English seaside golf holiday in full colour.

Why it matters

The British counterpart to the French resort sheets, and one of the few pre-1931 English golf posters surviving at true wall resolution.

What to notice

The links, the sea, and the town stacked into one vertical — the standard seaside-poster grammar.

Every great links was also a timetable and a hotel bill.
